Since the invention of the first spotting scope in the 50s, the Japanese optical manufacturer KOWA has continued to innovate in the world of optical design and technology.
This heritage continues today with the reinvention of the popular Kowa BD binocular series. Introducing the BDII-XD. A range of enhanced optics at the forefront of imaging excellence using Kowa's premium grade XD lenses.
Binoculars that benefit from Kowa's decades of optical advancements and BDII-XD philosophy are simple:
- Affordable and uncompromising.
A binocular that can be appreciated by many, while offering exceptional image resolution, robust build quality, superior engineering, and comfortable operation.
- A not so ordinary ED lens
As with many binocular brands, the BDII-XD series uses an ED (extra-low dispersion) glass to enhance optical performance.
Each BDII-XD model features environmentally friendly XD objectives. This high-resolution ED glass contains large amounts of mineral fluorite crystal - the best material available to date for light transmission, ensuring a sharp and accurate image as well as virtually zero chromatic aberration (color blur).
The result: a simply stunning view of nature.
Kowa's lens coating technology developed over decades further enhances the light transmission properties of all lenses and the unique KR coating repels dirt and liquids.
Enjoy sharp images with natural colors, high contrast, and incredible detail, from dawn to dusk.
- Enhanced robustness
Each model in the BDII-XD range benefits from a magnesium alloy chassis. A sophisticated molding process reproducing the feel and strength of metal without the weight.
The lightweight and robust structure can tolerate the harshest conditions and provides a sense of security and longevity.
The BDII-XD is built to last, use it with peace of mind.
A reinforced “tactile” rubber grip surrounds the sturdy magnesium alloy body, not only providing a secure and comfortable grip, but also increasing the level of durability.
Each BDII-XD is fully waterproof, filled with dry nitrogen to prevent lenses from fogging. The Kowa KR coating protects against dirt and any other buildup of foreign residues that can stick to the lenses during use.
- Broaden your horizons One of the most remarkable optical features of the BDII-XD series is its wide field of view offering exceptional wide-angle performance.
Observing is very pleasant to the eye, making long periods of use in the field enjoyable and comfortable.
The field of view is the area through which you can see through your binoculars. It is usually measured in m/1,000 m or degrees.
Example: At a distance of 1000 m, the BDII32-6.5XD model can display an incredible image width of 175 m. Find a subject faster with a wider field of view and crystal clear clarity.
Designed for your comfort
The BDII-XD series is designed to enhance your viewing experience.
A sleek and ergonomic design with a specially selected “tactile” rubber grip ensures easy and comfortable use - enhancing every moment of use.
Flawless operation.
A smooth and responsive focus wheel offers pinpoint accuracy and soft twist-up eyecups ensure optimal viewing for both eyeglass wearers and non-wearers.
Set your focus to suit your needs with an easy-to-use dioptric adjustment system.
The ergonomic magnesium body of the BDII-XD series is as impressive as the optics it protects, each curve designed to make observation relaxing and fatigue-free.
Night Sky
Thanks to their Wide Angle all models in the BDII-XD range are perfect for astronomy enthusiasts and those who simply want to enjoy a stunning view of the night sky.
With its wide field of view and clarity the BDII-XD series will take you on an immersive journey through the stars.
These lightweight and ergonomic binoculars are an ideal choice.
Close-focus distance
All models in the BDII-XD range benefit from excellent close-focus performance. The 42 mm series features a short focus of 1.8 m while the 32 mm models can achieve an incredibly close focusing distance of just 1.3 m.
