Since the invention of the first spotting scope in the 50s, the Japanese optical manufacturer KOWA has continued to innovate in the world of optical design and technology.

This heritage continues today with the reinvention of the popular Kowa BD binocular series. Introducing the BDII-XD. A range of enhanced optics at the forefront of imaging excellence using Kowa's premium XD lenses.

Binoculars that benefit from Kowa's decades of optical advancement and the simplicity of the BDII-XD philosophy:

- Affordable and uncompromising.

A binocular that can be appreciated by many, while offering exceptional image resolution, rugged build quality, superior engineering and comfortable operation.

- Not so average ED lens

As with many binocular brands, the BDII-XD series uses ED glass (very low dispersion) to enhance optical performance.

Each BDII-XD model is equipped with environmentally friendly XD objectives. This high-resolution ED glass contains large amounts of mineral fluorite crystal - the best material available to date for light transmission, ensuring a sharp and accurate image as well as virtually zero chromatic aberration (color blur).

The result: a simply breathtaking view of nature.

The lens coating technology developed by Kowa over the decades further enhances the light transmission properties of all lenses and the unique KR coating repels dirt and liquids.

Enjoy sharp images with natural colours, high contrast and incredible detail, from dawn to dusk.

- Enhanced robustness

Each model in the BDII-XD range benefits from a magnesium alloy chassis. A sophisticated moulding process reproducing the feel and strength of metal without the weight.

The lightweight and durable structure can tolerate the harshest conditions and provides a sense of security and longevity.

The BDII-XD is built to last, use it with peace of mind.

A reinforced “tactile” rubber coating surrounds the robust magnesium alloy body, not only providing a sure and comfortable grip but also increasing the level of durability.

Each BDII-XD is fully waterproof, filled with dry nitrogen to prevent the lenses from fogging up. The Kowa KR coating protects from dirt and any other foreign debris that may attach to the lenses during use.

- Broaden your horizons
One of the most notable optical features of the BDII-XD series is its wide field of view offering exceptional wide-angle performance.

Observation is very enjoyable to the eye, making long periods of use in the field pleasant and comfortable.

The field of view is the area you can see through your binoculars. It is usually measured in m/1,000 m or in degrees.

Example:
At a distance of 1000 m, the BDII32-6.5XD model can display an incredible image width of 175 m.
Find a subject more quickly with a wider field of view and crystal clarity.
Designed for your comfort

The BDII-XD series is designed to enhance your observation experience.

A sleek and ergonomic design with a specially selected reinforced “tactile” rubber coating ensures easy and comfortable use - enhancing every moment of use.

Flawless operation.

A smooth and responsive focus wheel offers precision and soft twist-up eyecups ensure optimal viewing both for wearers and non-wearers of glasses.

Adjust your focus according to your needs with an easy-to-use diopter adjustment system.

The magnesium body of the BDII-XD series is as impressive as the optics it protects, each curve is supposed to make observation relaxing and fatigue-free.

Night Sky

Thanks to their Wide Angle, all models in the BDII-XD range are perfect for astronomy enthusiasts and those who simply want to enjoy a stunning view of the night sky.

With its wide field of view and clarity, the BDII-XD series will take you on an immersive journey through the stars.

These lightweight and ergonomic binoculars are an ideal choice.

Close focus distance

All models in the BDII-XD range benefit from excellent close focus performance. The 42 mm series features a 1.8 m short focus while the 32 mm models can achieve an incredibly close focusing distance with only 1.3 m.
