Since the invention of the first spotting scope in the 50s, the Japanese optics manufacturer KOWA has continued to innovate in the world of optical design and technology.
This legacy continues today with the reinvention of the popular Kowa BD binocular series. Introducing the BDII-XD. A range of enhanced optics at the forefront of imaging excellence using Kowa's premium XD lenses.
The binoculars that benefit from Kowa's decades of optical advancements and the philosophy of the BDII-XD are simple:
- Affordable and without compromise.
A binocular that can be appreciated by many, while offering exceptional image resolution, robust construction quality, superior engineering and comfortable operation.
- An ED lens, not so ordinary
Like with many binocular brands, the BDII-XD series uses an ED (Extra-low dispersion) glass to enhance optical performance.
Each BDII-XD model features environmentally friendly XD objectives. This high-resolution ED glass contains large amounts of mineral fluorite crystal - the best material available to date for light transmission, thus ensuring sharp, precise imaging and virtually no chromatic aberration (color blur).
The result: simply stunning views of nature.
Kowa's lens coating technology developed over decades further enhances the light transmission properties of all lenses and a unique KR coating repels dirt and liquids.
Enjoy sharp images with natural colors, high contrast and incredible detail, from dawn till dusk.
- Enhanced robustness
Each model in the BDII-XD range benefits from a magnesium alloy chassis. A sophisticated molding process reproduces the feel and strength of metal without the weight.
The lightweight and robust structure can tolerate the most severe conditions and provides a sense of security and longevity.
The BDII-XD is built to last, use with peace of mind.
An enhanced "tactile" rubber casing surrounds the sturdy magnesium alloy body, not only providing a secure and comfortable grip, but also increasing the level of durability.
Each BDII-XD is fully waterproof, filled with dry nitrogen to prevent the lenses from fogging. Kowa's KR coating protects against dirt and any other accumulation of foreign debris that may adhere to lenses during use.
- Widen your horizons One of the most notable optical characteristics of the BDII-XD series is its wide field of vision offering exceptional wide-angle performance.
Observation is very pleasant to the eye, making extended periods of usage enjoyable and comfortable on the field.
The field of view is the area in which you can see through your binoculars. It is usually measured in m/1,000 m or in degrees.
Example: At a distance of 1000 m, the BDII32-6.5XD model can display an incredible image width of 175 m. Find a subject faster with a wider field of vision and crystal-clear clarity. Designed for Your Comfort
The BDII-XD series is designed to enhance your observation experience.
A sleek and ergonomic design with specially selected "tactile" rubber armor ensures easy and comfortable use - enhancing every moment of use.
Flawless operation.
A smooth and responsive focus wheel offers pinpoint accuracy and soft twist-up eyecups ensure excellent visibility both for wearers and non-wearers of glasses.
Adjust your focus according to your needs with an easy-to-use diopter adjustment system.
The BDII-XD series' magnesium ergonomic body is as impressive as the optics it protects, with every curve intended to make observation relaxing and fatigue-free.
Night Sky
Thanks to their Wide Angle all models in the BDII-XD range are perfect for astronomy enthusiasts and those who simply want to enjoy a stunning view of the night sky.
With its wide field of vision and clearness the BDII-XD series will lead you into an immersive journey through the stars.
These lightweight and ergonomic binoculars are an ideal choice.
Close focus distance
All models in the BDII-XD range benefit from excellent short focus performance. The 42mm series features a short focus of 1.8m while the 32mm models can achieve an incredibly close focusing distance with only 1.3m.
