Features: • New multi-coating treatment of lenses • New coating for light transmission • Waterproof and purged with nitrogen (JIS Class 6) • Highly reflecting prism with special treatment of prisms • Rubber finish • Comfortable eye relief and minimum focus • Internal focus • Retractable eyecups • New multi-coating treatment of lenses • The multi-layer treatment of the lenses allows better light transmission through the lenses and prevents the risk of Flare and ghost images (parasitic lights). PENTAX applies several layers of coating to each surface of the lenses, Prism and this for the entire range of binoculars. This treatment guarantees better light transmission for a sharper aiming.
New coating for light transmission The complex optical design of roof Prism binoculars provides reliability and compactness but requires a high level of optical perfection. A special coating on the facets of the roof Prism is necessary for maximum sighting quality. PENTAX optimises this quality by applying a new surface film technology on the lenses and Prism for better colour rendering and brightness results.
BaK4 Prism Thanks to its incredible refractive index, the BaK4 glass prism, found in all PENTAX binoculars, is highly appreciated for its circular pupil output and absence of vignetting.
Special treatment of prisms For "roof prism" type binoculars, light rays are what restrict light transmission. With this treatment, the light rays do not suffer any loss. Unlike other manufacturers who only use this treatment on their high-end models, PENTAX applies it to all its "roof prism" models.
Waterproof 005_focus_copie.jpg
PENTAX's waterproof products are fully sealed and purged with liquid nitrogen in the laboratory, for fog-free sightings in the toughest conditions. With JIS Class 6, PENTAX waterproof binoculars can even be submerged 1 meter under water.
Construction with internal focus This design is ideal for waterproof models that require a completely airtight construction. It also contributes to the maximum size and weight reduction and improves the center of gravity and reliability.
Purged with nitrogen Nitrogen is a chemical element and a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas. It contains very little moisture and is used to purge binoculars and spotting scopes from the very humid air that is part of our environment. Due to the low humidity factor, nitrogen prevents the formation of condensation on the internal lenses of optical instruments during rapid temperature changes. In addition, since the gas seal is slightly above atmospheric pressure, dust and other minute particles cannot enter the body of the instrument.
Long eye relief The comfortable eye relief that almost all PENTAX binoculars enjoy allows the user to keep the entire field of vision clear and comfortable. This is particularly beneficial for eyeglass wearers and allows long periods of observation without eye strain.
Rubber external finish It provides effective protection against shocks and impacts.
