A hunter in the country For a defense of rurality Willy Schraen Preface by Me DupondMoretti

Willy Schraen was elected in 2016 President of the F.N.C., with 1,030,000 members. He is the originator of new hunting laws, negotiated with Emmanuel Macron the reform of hunting including the highly publicised decrease in the national permit price. After decades where French hunting did not dare to express itself or show itself, the president now wishes to be heard and assert the role that French hunting plays daily in the conservation and regulation of species, the defence of biodiversity, its role as France's first ecologist, constantly on the ground and closely linked with the rural world. He fights against the excesses of productivism which threatens a fauna and flora essential for ecological balance. He also fights for farmers and all those living in rural areas, often misunderstood and abandoned by a distant elite who decide for them, without knowing them.

In this essay, Willy Schraen presents his analysis of all the policies undertaken on hunting in conjunction with governments, but also proposes solutions for better living in rural areas. He defends a way of life that is undermined by general misunderstanding and issues that contradict those of urban populations. More than an indictment, this is a plea for a less fractured France and a return to understanding and mutual recognition of populations with finally quite similar aspirations. President of the FNC since August 2016, elected at 47 years old, Willy Schraen is the youngest president of the FNC. Native to the North, now settled in the Pas-deCalais, he is the father of 3 children. Originally a lover of small game from the plains (gray partridge and hare) and then migratory game, he is also passionate about large game, especially wild boar in a driven hunt.
